The coach previews the game against Real Betis
Valencia CF young talent Yunus Musah and Celta Vigo's midfielder Luca de la Torre had the chance to talk ahead of the LaLiga match between Celta Vigo and Valencia CF.
The two footballers are the only US players in LaLiga, and they have shared a lot of experiences together.
What is your favourite part of your job?
Luca de la Torre: "I enjoy the day-to-day of it, training every day being around teammates and obviously winning a game and playing well, it's pure relief, I like that feeling".
Yunus Musah: Yes, I agree, It's been a tough season for us, and I haven't had many moments like that, but when we've won games, I like being in training around my teammates and having fun with them. I see them so much that they aren't just teammates they are friends and we enjoy our company".
How are you feeling going into this matchup?
Yunus Musah: "We've had a while to prepare for this game actually because last weekend we didn't have a match, we've got some good rest as well, we going into this game to win it. because have to win it.
We're at a situation where every detail counts, every point counts, so we're going to go there really determined to win the game.
We know is not going to be easy because Celta is playing really good, they are a really good team, they are doing really well and it's going to be tough.
It's going to be tough, but we're literally going to go there and give it all our best because, with five games to go, you can't leave anything behind in the tank, you know".
Luca de la Torre: "Yeah, we both need the points, you know, it's going to be a difficult game Valencia CF has had some good results recently, we need to win as well.
Are you going to play on the right Yunus? I see you guys have been playing 5-4-1 kind of ".
-"I can't speak too much. You get me... I don't know".
Is there anybody in your team that motivates you?
Luca de la Torre: "I think the special player in our team has got to be Iago Aspas, he's just a guy with so much quality and when we need a special moment in the game, he's usually the one that comes up with something out of nothing, so definitely him".
Yunus Musah: "I'm a person that has a connection with a lot of the guys, so in the changing room a hang out with everyone. We get into deep conversations and that's how we bounce ideas off each other".
What song turns you up before a game?
Yunus Musah: "I like Run This Town by Jay Z".
Luca de la Torre: "Trademark USA by Baby Kim".
What piece of advice would you give to one of your fans aspiring to become footballers?
Yunus Musah: "You've got to have belief, you have to believe in yourself, but you can't be deluded and think that's all you need. You also need to work really hard, for me the ultimate thing for me was working harder than my teammates, doing that extra stuff to get the edge over them".
Luca de la Torre: "Just stick with it, even if it's just hard times or whatever, just work hard, if you just show up, do everything you can, and you do your best every day, you'll get somewhere".
